Visual language is the basic building block of design such as lines and shapes. Whereas, grammar gives context, structure and meaning to design. Understanding Gestalt theory and it’s application in design actually helped me a lot with this project.

This project was an application of Visual Language and Grammar and Reductive Illustration. For this project I took the topic of climate crisis and highlighted five animals whose livelihood has been impacted by climate change and will continue to worsen unless we take an action.

I used a bright colour palette and an illustration style which would would catch people’s attention and make them think, ‘hey, this is cute’ in stark contrast to the words ‘save me’ written in bold.
